KFC Colonel Sanders returns, and he has not aged a day
First Hamburglar, now this: KFC Colonel Sanders returns.
Fast food retailer premiere three new commercials on Tuesday, starring comedian and Saturday Night Live alum Darrell Hammond as Colonel Harland Sanders, founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken. Colonel revival comes just in time for the 75th anniversary of buckets filled with breaded, fried chicken.
In a press release of the anniversary of the brand, KFC celebrates the original Colonel Sanders life, at the end of chicken seller, whose career highlights also included time as an "army mule-tender," a "ferry entrepreneur" and super volatile, one "amateur obstetrician."
The new KFC marketing strategy goes far beyond new commercials. Restaurants rolling out new packaging with a person of colonel, and Web site received a facelift of his own.
The changes come after many years of struggle for KFC and its parent company Yum! Brands.
